A Taste Of Matarangi
Our History

It started with a dream
For years, local businessman and community stalwart Puku Stevens, dreamed of providing a festival for the local community. Then along came Bronwyn Ririnui, a newcomer to the community, who said …
"I can help to achieve that dream".
So Bronwyn Ririnui and Puku Stevens gathered a team of dedicated community volunteers offering a combination of experience, skill and enthusiasm, and A Taste of Matarangi was developed.
The overwhelmingly positive response to the inaugural festival in 2013 from audiences, the media, regional businesses and the community has confirmed that A Taste of Matarangi festival will become an annual event.

The Dream Continues
A Taste of Matarangi – food, wine and music by the beach – is a day to bring communities and families together, celebrate what we have to offer, showcase local cuisine, businesses and talent, and invite visitors to the region. It is also an event to raise awareness and fundraise for a chosen charity that benefits the surrounding community.
See you there!
